We made significant progress on the deck this weekend — despite an unexpected water main break right in front of our house that sent gallons of water coursing down the street until we noticed and called it in. Five workers spent about seven hours repairing it, digging a large hole in the corner of our yard and the road while our street’s water was shut off. Yikes, but they handled it and the neighborhood rejoiced. Running water is one of those conveniences you don’t appreciate until it’s gone, right alongside electricity and your favorite snacks. With the water back on, we’ll share a full deck update tomorrow.
For now, we’re still smitten with this house, which makes it a little sad I didn’t get to see it in person. We tried to arrange a house visit with Meghan while we were in Atlanta, but conflicting schedules kept it from happening. Luckily Meghan took beautiful photos and described each room, so we can enjoy a virtual house tour. Let’s step inside and take a look.
Meghan greets us at the front door with the warm, lived-in style that defines her home. She previously worked in hotel design in Atlanta and now focuses on residential interiors, which explains the thoughtful mix of high-style pieces and affordable finds. Her home feels accessible and inspiring — perfect for anyone looking for realistic design ideas.
The living and dining areas are a highlight. Neutral tones and layered textures set a calm foundation, with pops of color bringing personality to the space. Small accents like an orange side table and a yellow tray on the coffee table add cheer without overwhelming the room. A bronze Buddha head, a honeymoon find from Bali, adds a travel-infused touch and lends character to the vignette.
On the other side of the living room a grid of mirrors amplifies the natural light, creating a bright, airy feel. Sleek items, such as a clear acrylic coffee table, mingle with more textured pieces like a jute rug and linen-like chairs for a curated, collected-over-time aesthetic.
The dining area continues the theme of balanced contrast. A sculptural chandelier anchors the table, while modern white chairs sit alongside a natural-fiber pendant and a woven rug. The result is chic yet approachable — a space that feels intentional without being precious.
The den offers a moodier, more intimate atmosphere. Grasscloth wallpaper provides rich texture and warmth, especially when paired with deep-hued sofas, an iron coffee table, and dark-framed artwork. Pops of spicy orange and crimson keep the room lively and inviting, a perfect retreat for conversation or quiet reading.
Small details matter here. A collection of vases, sea fans, and layered textures creates a simple but striking display. These thoughtful vignettes show how small investments and curated objects can elevate a room’s personality.
Meghan’s kitchen blends clean, modern lines with rustic touches. Stainless hardware and appliances give the space a sleek foundation, while elements like a woven shade over the sink, a tone-on-tone tile backsplash, and a vintage rug soften the edges and add warmth. The rug, a family hand-me-down, brings history and comfort into the kitchen.
The bedroom continues the moody yet cozy thread with deep gray walls and a luxurious upholstered headboard. Patterned pillows and a graphic rug introduce contrast and depth, while carefully chosen accents in warm red-orange tones keep the sanctuary feeling cozy and sophisticated.
Outside, the outdoor living area feels like a private oasis. A generous sectional and charming white lanterns create a relaxed, inviting space ideal for lounging or entertaining. Pops of blue from accent pillows add a fresh, coastal touch that complements the greenery surrounding the patio.
This Atlanta home demonstrates how to mix textures, finishes, and styles to create spaces that feel both polished and personal. Meghan’s approach — pairing affordable finds with thoughtful splurges and infusing spaces with collected pieces — makes the design feel attainable and real. Although we missed an in-person visit, we’re grateful Meghan shared so many photos and insights that allowed us to tour her home virtually.
If you’re inspired by these rooms, consider how layered textures, a restrained color palette with strategic pops of color, and meaningful personal objects could refresh your own space. Our favorite spots are the cozy den and the inviting outdoor area, while the dining room’s textured pendant light gets special mention. Which room speaks to you?
