As we celebrate our two-year blogiversary, we wanted to share the numbers that tell the story of this wild, rewarding ride. These statistics capture the late nights, tiny victories, and the incredible community that keeps us going. Below is a snapshot of milestones, habits, and little quirks that make this blog what it is—presented in plain, grateful language.
1006- The total number of posts we’ve published so far. It’s amazing to think how quickly this grew from the 380 posts we had at our first anniversary. Each post reflects a project, a lesson, or a slice of our lives.
68,025- The number of comments you’ve shared. Every thoughtful note, question, and suggestion matters to us—your feedback shapes what we do next.
19,206- Spam comments caught by our spam filter. We’re grateful for the digital gatekeeper that keeps our conversations relevant and (mostly) free of nonsense.
3,507- Comment questions we’ve answered to date. We sincerely try to reply to as many of your inquiries as possible because the dialogue here is one of our favorite parts of blogging.
78- The average number of reader emails we receive every day. We read them all and do our best to respond, even when the inbox gets a little overwhelming.
14- How many posts we like to keep in the pipeline at any given time. Having a steady queue helps us maintain consistency and gives us the flexibility to respond to timely topics.
2- Weekdays we didn’t post this past year. One was to give everyone time to read an important announcement, and the other was due to an entire-day server crash—an unfortunate reminder that technology doesn’t always cooperate.
44- Weekly giveaways we’ve hosted since we started them in December. These have been a fun way to give back and celebrate our readers.
$6,233- The combined value of all giveaway prizes so far. We’re thrilled to have reached this milestone, and it’s all thanks to the partnerships and generosity that support these events.
49- Our average number of posts per month. That pace reflects a lot of planning, late-night editing, and sheer enthusiasm for home projects and storytelling.
15- Videos we’ve produced since setting a goal to publish one each week. Creating video content has been a rewarding challenge and a new way to share ideas visually.
229- The projects linked on our How To page. This gallery remains a go-to resource for step-by-step projects and practical inspiration for tackling your own spaces.
15- Homes we’ve “House Crashed” — invited tours that let us peek inside inspiring spaces. We love featuring real homes and the stories behind them.
108- Custom mood boards completed to date. Designing these boards is one of our favorite creative outlets, and seeing them come together is always rewarding.
26- Average number of minutes it takes for our custom mood boards to sell out when listed on Monday mornings. The speed is equal parts surprising and flattering.
17- Room makeovers we’ve completed for others, either virtually or in person, and documented in our Portfolio. Each one highlights a different approach to design and problem-solving.
32 (& growing)- Major home projects still on our to-do list. We’ll never run out of things to tackle around here, and that keeps us excited about the future.
2.5- People who live in our house, if you count Burger as a half. This little household dynamic is a constant source of laughter and chaos.
2.5- Computers in our home, if you count John’s work laptop (which often comes home) as a half. Between writing, editing, and photo work, our devices get a lot of use.
40- Approximate number of times a text between us contains the auto-corrected word “clog” instead of “blog.” Auto-fill continues to amuse and mildly frustrate us.
86,239- Most blog pageviews in a single day. We’re humbled by the moments when something really resonates and brings waves of readers our way.
1,621,079- Total blog hits in the last month. Your readership keeps this project alive—thank you for showing up.
8,509,736- Total blog hits to date. This long-term engagement reminds us why we keep sharing projects, ideas, and stories.
12- Average number of hours per day I spend on the computer. Between research, writing, and interacting with readers, it adds up quickly.
18- Approximate hours per week John spends on the blog in addition to his full-time job. His extra effort makes a huge difference in keeping everything running smoothly.
5- Steps from my desk to the couch—our designated decompression spot for some guilty-pleasure reality TV after a long stretch of blogging. Small rituals like this keep us sane.
There you have it: the who, what, when, and how much of our second year. These numbers are more than statistics; they reflect time, care, and the community that has grown around this blog. If you’re curious about anything else, ask away—we’ll happily tally it up and share more behind-the-scenes details.
