Aglaonema, commonly known as the Chinese Evergreen, is a resilient, low-maintenance houseplant that adapts well to a variety of indoor light conditions—even a darker corner of a bedroom. With dozens of cultivars available, Aglaonema displays a wide range of foliage colors and patterns, from silvery greens to deep reds and bright pinks. Their attractive tropical leaves and forgiving nature make them an excellent choice for both new and forgetful plant owners. In our experience, they remain consistently low maintenance and dependable.

We placed two Aglaonema plants atop our daughter’s closet. The variety identification can be subtle, but one appears to be Aglaonema Silver and the other likely a Candy Cane or Princess Silver Queen. Regardless of exact cultivar, both have performed well in our home environment.
