[ad_1]

Well, we’re dialing up the nerd factor and launching a podcast: Young House Love Has A Podcast. Take a moment to let the name settle in—there’s a lot of charm and personality packed into it. We’re excited to share conversations about home, projects, design, life, and the little messes and wins that come with them.

New episodes appear every Monday. We’ve released well over fifty episodes covering topics from simple weekend projects to the bigger, messier renovations—and the life stories in between. If you already listen to podcasts, subscribe to Young House Love Has A Podcast in your favorite app so new episodes download automatically. If you’re new to podcasts, don’t worry—we’ll walk you through how to get started and how to subscribe so you never miss an episode.

Getting Started with Podcasts

Podcasts are essentially free, on-demand audio programs—like talk radio you can control. Instead of tuning in to whatever happens to be playing, you choose the show and the episode. Play an interview while commuting, listen to a project-themed episode while painting or mowing the lawn, or save a chat for when you’re doing chores. You can pause and resume anytime.

Subscribing saves data: when you subscribe to a show, new episodes download automatically over Wi-Fi. That means you can listen later without streaming, even when you don’t have service. Downloaded episodes play like regular audio files and won’t use mobile data.

Our preferred listening method is the Podcasts app on iPhone and iPad. It’s user-friendly and handles subscriptions and downloads automatically. Below is a simple step-by-step guide to subscribing and listening on an iPhone using the Podcasts app.

To subscribe to Young House Love Has A Podcast on an iPhone using the Podcasts app:

  • Step 1. Open the Podcasts app, then tap the magnifying glass in the bottom-right corner to Search.
  • Step 2. Type “Young House Love Has A Podcast” in the search field at the top.
  • Step 3. Tap the show’s cover art to open the show page.

  • Step 4. On the show page, tap Subscribe. Subscribing is free and ensures you receive new episodes automatically.
  • Step 5. If you want episodes immediately, tap the download icon (cloud with down arrow) next to each episode. Downloads complete over Wi-Fi so you won’t use mobile data.

  • Step 6. Find downloaded and unplayed episodes by tapping Unplayed in the bottom-left of the app. This shows episodes you haven’t listened to yet.
  • Step 7. Tap any episode to begin listening. Playback controls let you pause, skip forward, rewind 15 or 30 seconds, and change playback speed.

Once you’re subscribed, new Monday episodes should download automatically to the Podcasts app when your device is on Wi-Fi. Just open the app, go to Unplayed, and your newest episode should be ready to play without using any mobile data.

You can also explore other shows via the Featured and Top Charts tabs in the Podcasts app. There’s a podcast for almost every interest—true crime, pop culture, news, parenting, home improvement, and more—so you can build a listening list that fits your life.

Note: You can stream or subscribe from desktop apps like iTunes or use Android podcast apps such as Stitcher, TuneIn Radio, or Pocket Casts if you prefer. The basics are the same: find the show, subscribe, and download or stream episodes.

That covers the essentials. If you’re wondering what I do in the evenings: I tinker with the microphone, try out different tones, and occasionally slow my voice down to pretend I sound like James Earl Jones. Tune in, subscribe, and join the conversation—there’s an episode waiting for you.
