Now that our kitchen remodel is finished, it felt like the right moment to share an overdue video house tour. Our last tour was almost three years ago and, back then, there wasn’t much to see since it was filmed only seven months after we moved in. The first floor now looks almost unrecognizable compared to that earlier “before” video, so we pulled out the camera and walked through the house using our usual method: John films while I chat non-stop. If you watch closely, you’ll spot two frames currently holding a sideways stock photo of a stranger—our family photos are on order, but that girl in the hat still makes us laugh.
If you have trouble viewing the embedded video in your reader, try opening the post directly or watching the tour on YouTube.
We also toured the upstairs, which still has projects in progress. As mentioned in the video, two bathroom renovations remain on our to-do list, and there are a few simpler tasks, like finishing a wall in our daughter’s room. You may notice some odd dark lines in the hall bath footage—our camera didn’t cooperate with the lighting in that space, so apologies for the visual quirks.
If the upstairs video won’t play in your feed reader, you can view it through our main post or watch it on YouTube.
Below we’ve compiled links to in-depth posts that answer many of the questions viewers often ask after watching a tour. These cover room-by-room details like the kitchen remodel, built-in shelving, stair runner installation, and more. You’ll also find before-and-after photos in our Current House Tour gallery, which we try to keep up to date, and a Shop Our House page that lists paint colors and sources for nearly every room.

If you’d like a deeper look, those posts walk through the planning, materials, and steps we took for each project. The kitchen entry, for example, includes detailed notes on layout, cabinetry choices, countertop selection, and paint decisions. The living room built-ins post explains how we framed the cabinetry around a doorway and shares tips for matching trim and paint so the built-ins feel integrated rather than tacked on.
Our house is a Colonial-style home, and since moving in we’ve focused on marrying the home’s original character with updated finishes and practical touches. That has meant prioritizing key spaces like the kitchen and main living areas while allowing secondary spaces—bedrooms, bathrooms, and certain hallways—to evolve over time. Some rooms are now complete, while others are in various stages of refresh, which makes sharing these tours fun: you get to see not only what’s finished, but also what’s next on our list.
Thanks for taking a look around with us. If anything in the tour sparks questions—about paint colors, sources, or how we approached a particular build—feel free to leave a comment on the post. We’ve tried to assemble resources that make it easy to find the answers without having to dig through every individual update, and we’ll keep adding details and photos as projects wrap up.
Note: Additional photos and project details appear in our book, which includes updates about the living room, dining room, powder room, guest bedroom, and the hall bathroom.
